My Genius Hour Project
For my genius hour project I chose to focus on old and modern cartoons.
I chose it because I thought it was a fascinating topic and no one else has done it.
I also wanted to learn about Walt Disney and other cartoon makers. I hope you enjoy!

My Artist Project
My Artist DLO
This term Rimu class have been working on NZ artists. We all chose an artist to do a presentation on and then paint on a canvas. I chose Marion Towns to do mine on. I chose her because she only paints nature. I think that learning about NZ artists is important because we need to learn about different ways of painting so we can have more affective paintings. Collaborative doc
Collaborative Doc
For Digi Day Chloe, Nikita and I made a shared document and wrote some stories about one of these characters. I liked writing a story about Ancient Rome and it was good to see what the others were writing and having people comment while I was writing. It was good reading more advice on how to make it better instantly.
Some of our comments.

My Holiday
The Holidays
In the Holidays I went to the West Coast to see my dad. It was a three hour drive from Christchurch to my dad's house; it got really boring. There was lots of beautiful scenery.
This is where we went. |
We went on many walks. This is the first one we went on, The Brunner Mines historic site. |

My 100wc
The Wedding
The sea glistened like a sparkling, silver mirror. I could see the reflection of the moon shining down on us. I glanced over at Melissa. I Started sweating; my palms were saturated. I wanted to say something but I couldn't speak. She looked at me, her smile glowing in the moonlight.
"Ahh Melissa I want to ask you something"
"What?" She said shyly.
"Melissa Ella-Grace Tedd will you marry me?"
"Yes Yes"
The next day they were married; it was a small gathering of friends and family. They drove off into the sunset and lived happily ever after.

Digiawards
Rimu have just finished making their digi awards. Sophie and I chose the Ripple Effect; it was hard to choose an everyday hero but we got there in the end. I learnt how to add music of your own in and cut videos. If I did it again I would make the video a bit longer and put more detail in. Here is mine and Sophie's, hope you enjoy.
Are there any improvements we could've made?
Let us know in the comments :)

Yms VS Weedons
The yr 7-8s versed Weedons school in a game of hockey and football. In hockey we tied 3 all but it was a challenging game. We are a good match for each other.

Genius Hour Update
One of the very first successful animated cartoons was Gertie the Dinosaur (1914) by Winsor McCay. It is considered the first example of true character animation. At first, animated cartoons were black-and-white and silent. Felix the Cat and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit are notable examples.
